An Outstanding Redefinition Of A Golf Shoe

adidas Golf challenges the definition of a golf shoe with Codechaos, their trendsetting tour standard spikeless wonder that pushes the boundaries of form, function and fashion in golf.

“Golf continues to evolve and is in an exciting phase right now where the traditions of the game and how it can be played are all being challenged,” said Masun Denison, global footwear director, adidas Golf. “We’re excited about this movement which has inspired us to break down barriers and create unique footwear and apparel for anyone that picks up a club. Codechaos is meant to challenge what a golf shoe can look and feel like while still delivering top-notch performance to all golfers whenever or wherever they play.”

The progressive aesthetics and design of Codechaos deliberately disrupts our expectations of what is typical, and sets new standards for comfort, stability and performance. More trendy streetballer than golf, a head-turner in the Codechaos range is the high-top with a stabilising hydrophobic stretch-knit ankle collar. Beyond aesthetics, the wrap-around feeling over the ankle inspires a greater sense of stability.

The technology advancements of CODECHAOS both in construction and performance are noteworthy, from the calculated use of innovative materials to the proprietary ‘Twistgrip’ spikeless traction system.

Codechaos is first and foremost a spikeless golf shoe. Traditionally, spiked golf shoes have pronounced cleats and are typically worn only on the course. Spikeless golf shoes on the other hand, with their softer nubs and ridges on the outsole, are both more versatile and comfortable enough to double up as sneakers for extended daily wear on and off the course.

Between the compromise of spikeless versatility and spiked stability, Codechaos disrupts traditional thinking with great stability in a tour standard spikeless shoe that is still versatile enough to wear on and off the course all day long.

32-year old professional golfer Quincy Quek, a brand ambassador for adidas Golf shared, “I feel like my entire foot is in contact with the ground and that adds to the stability factor. Together with their ‘spikeless spikes’, it’s their grippiest shoe to date. With all adidas shoes that I’ve had, (there’s been) no break in period, just straight onto the feet and you’re good (to go).”

The highly stable and technical Codechaos shoe blends a soft, yet durable, rubber outsole with a first-of-its-kind TPU insert. The outsole features the Twistgrip proprietary traction system, a unique grip configuration derived via analytics for maximum traction regardless of ground conditions.

Fully waterproof, the new upper construction of a lightweight multi-layer mesh, gives the shoe a unique texture while enhancing its durability and breathability, even as the shoe remains impervious to the elements.

The comfort and energy return of full length Boost cushioning, the stability of the Torsion X bar, plus waterproof protection for all seasons, Codechaos ticks all the right boxes, including the disruptively fashionable one.

Codechaos comes in a variety of colours with either traditional or Boa Lacing options and are available now on adidas.com.sg and at select retailers.
