Asian Tour Book 2024
Victory by MJ Maguire [left & right] came in only his second season on the Asian Tour. extended his lead on both the Asian Tour Order of Merit and The International Series Rankings. The highlight of the opening round, when Maguire shot a 68 and Catlin 69, was a brilliant eight-under-par 64 by former touring professional turned CrossFit Games athlete Pierre-Henri Soero. Playing on a sponsor’s exemption, the 41-year-old American, who played on the Asian Tour in 2011, justified his invite and said: “I used to do this for a living, that was my job, playing 25 events a year but I was able to be successful at something else. “It’s all mental, I am in a good head space here. I am here on vacation with my wife. It’s all a bonus. If I play well, I play well. If not, it’s still a vacation.” Soero could not maintain his momentum, and subsequent rounds of 72, 74 and 73 pushed him to 67th place at five-under par. With rounds of 65, 66, and 66, Bhullar took sole possession of the lead at 19-under par after Saturday’s third round, but a double bogey on the par-four seventh on Sunday took him out of the equation. 104 BL ACK MOUN TA I N CHAMP IONSH I P B L A C K MO U N TA I N GO L F C L U B , H UA H I N , T H A I L A N D O C TO B E R 1 7 - 2 0 | P R I Z E MON E Y: U S $ 2 M I L L I ON
