ROLEX AND THE MASTERS
The Masters Tournament, the first men’s major championship of the season, is held annually at the historic Augusta National Golf Club, where the pristine conditions and meticulously designed course reward precision.

It is the only one of the four men’s majors to be contested by an invitation- only field and played on the same course each year. Through its role as Tournament Partner, Rolex has supported this bastion of tradition and excellence since 1999.
This year, the 89th edition, took place from 10–13 April, marking three notable anniversaries for members of the Rolex family. It has been 10 years since Jordan Spieth won the coveted Green Jacket (2015), 20 years since Tiger Woods claimed his fourth Masters victory (2005), highlighted by his fabled chip-in on the iconic 16th hole, and 40 years since Bernhard Langer won his maiden Masters title (1985).
The latter, a two-time Masters champion and former World No. 1, rounded off a remarkable career at Augusta National that included 40 appearances in the Masters and 10 appearances for the European team at The Ryder Cup, winning five times and featuring as the non-playing captain of the victorious European team in 2004.
Commenting on his affinity for the Masters Tournament, Jordan Spieth said: “My first major win is probably my most special memory. It was always my dream growing up to win major championships and the Masters has always been my favorite. I think it goes back to watching Tiger’s wins there. Having grown up in America, it can be seen as the Super Bowl of golf – the pinnacle of our sport. The history of the golf course and the way that it is managed, nobody inside the ropes and no cameras makes it certainly unique.”

Rolex Testimonee, Scottie Scheffler returned to defend his title, having claimed the Green Jacket for the second time in three years in April 2024. The American had a remarkable season with many notable accomplishments, including becoming the first player to win seven times on the PGA TOUR® since Woods in 2007, and claiming the FedEx Cup crown.
Reflecting on last year’s triumph, Scottie Scheffler said: “Since it’s the Masters, there’s always something special about it. When you grow up here in the United States, that’s the event we look at the most – with the history around the Tournament, Augusta National Golf Club and it being on the same golf courseyear
in, year out. You just dream of getting a chance to play in that Tournament and to have an opportunity to win it.”
Claiming victory at the Masters is one of golf’s crowning achievements. Often regarded as the pinnacle of golf, it demands a relentless pursuit of excellence, a drive to be the best and a commitment to continuous improvement, making Rolex the perfect partner. Winners earn a lifetime invitation to this prestigious event, where tradition and excellence are held in the highest regard.

Renowned for its prestige and rich history, the Masters is celebrated for its impeccable course conditions. From the immaculately maintained greens to the azalea-lined fairways, every detail at Augusta National Golf Club reflects the Tournament’s reputation for precision and excellence. Other members of the Rolex family who played this year included the prodigiously talented Swede Ludvig Åberg and Viktor Hovland, who made his sixth appearance at Augusta National Golf Club and earned Low Amateur honors in 2019 as Norway’s first Masters participant. Fellow Testimonees Keegan Bradley, Jason Day, Bryson DeChambeau, Thomas Detry, Nick Dunlap, Matt Fitzpatrick, Sungjae Im, Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, Joaquín Niemann and Justin Thomas will also be vying for victory, as well as past champions Fred Couples (1992), Hideki Matsuyama (2021), Phil Mickelson (2004, 2006, 2010), José María Olazábal (1994, 1999), Jon Rahm (2023) and Adam Scott (2013).
The Masters also contributes to the development of golf through its support for amateur events, including the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, inaugurated in 2019 and featuring the world’s leading amateur women players. Rolex Testimonee Rose Zhang lifted the trophy in 2023 before turning professional soon after, having claimed two victories on the LPGA Tour so far.
Additionally, the Masters supports other prominent amateur championships, such as the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship and the Latin America Amateur Championship, highlighting its global and far reaching scope throughout the game of golf.
