The Allure Of The Atlantique

Out of Columbus Yachts arrives two new models from their Atlantique line, from 37 to 55 metres. Both these innovative projects embody Hot Lab’s “Architecture for Voyagers” design philosophy that prompted the immediate sale of the line progenitor: Columbus Atlantique 43 meters.

The design is a combination of stylistic, planning and functional elements dedicated to cruising and for the full enjoyment of every single moment aboard. Interaction of spaces with the marine environment is significant, and external lines are clean and elegant yet with a touch of sportiness, not unlike how Italian GT cars are appreciated the world over. The hull silhouette of the entire line recalls the sailing yachts of bygone days and the stern area, with its large panoramic swimming pool, is just 50 cm above water level.

The compact Atlantique 37 combines sporty lines with refined interiors. Below deck, the layout includes 4 double cabins with en-suite, while the owner cabin is on the main deck forward. There are two dining areas, one outdoor on the main deck and the other one on the upper deck to cater for up to 10 people. The latter featuring large rounded windows that move up, down and horizontally that close or open as needed in emphasis of the constant connection with the sea.

The first garage for the 4.45-metre tender is located on the right side while the forward hangar houses a second 3.25-metre tender and the rescue boat. 2 MAN 1400hp engines propels this superyacht to a maximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots.

The flagship of the line, Atlantique 55 represents the ultimate synthesis of all the innovations specific to this new concept. With a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she has a tonnage of 900 GT and an expansive layout spread over four decks. The convivial area on the main deck aft has been designed to achieve maximum comfort with the rearward sloping design of the three levels, which comprises of the large scenographic swimming pool, the living area with a C-shaped sofa and coffee table and finally the bar area near the entrance to the main hall.

The main deck is available with the option two layouts both with the owner cabin forward – the first version has a gym with private balcony, whereas the second one has a 5th VIP cabin and a private balcony in the owner cabin. Below deck, we find 4 double cabins with en-suite, with another 7 cabins for the yacht’s 13-member crew. The second pool is on the sun deck, while tenders and jet skis are stowed in the forward garage.

Columbus Yachts focus on modernity, elegance, sophistication are the keys that make the design of the Atlantique line a beacon in the yachting market.
