SOAR-ING TO NEW HEIGHTS

A new chapter unfolds for the Singapore edition of the World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC), the
planet’s biggest corporate golf competition, and one of the most prestigious. Independent Reserve (IR) comes on board this year as Presenting Sponsor.

In partnership with IR and their adopted charity, Extra•Ordinary People, the event will unveil a new commemorative logo designed by Genine Tham – an artist with Global Developmental Delay at Extra•Ordinary People’s Creative Lab – based on her original art piece titled “SOAR”.

Founded in 2017, Extra•Ordinary People empowers children and individuals with special needs. More than 15 per cent of all flight sale proceeds will be donated directly to the IPC-registered charity, with corporate buyers enjoying 250 per cent tax rebates.

The WCGCS tournament tees off on 28 August at the Singapore Island Country Club’s (SICC) Bukit Course. In addition, two exclusive networking events are also planned. Corporate teams with a purchased flight at WCGC Singapore will also receive complimentary entry into the global Fall 25 League, held at indoor golf lunge 5 Iron on Cecil Street — all for the same S$3,000+ package price.

Then, a week before tournament day, selected guests will be invited to a special networking evening at the new BOSS Store at Ngee Ann City where a fireside chat will feature Lasanka Perera, CEO, Independent Reserve Singapore and Steven Lam, Managing Director Southeast Asia and Travel Retail Asia Pacific at HUGO BOSS.

Singapore’s top female professional golfer, Shannon Tan, fresh off her second win on the Ladies European Tour at the Amundi German Masters, will also be there to tell of her recent achievements.

Founded in 1993 in partnership with The Times (UK), WCGC involves local qualifying tournaments in over 30 countries, and culminating in the WCGC World Final.

In Singapore, WCGC Singapore is open to all locally registered corporates, associations, and institutions. Hugo Boss will sponsor the winners at this year’s WCGC Singapore a tuxedo suit to be worn at the black-tie gala event at the World Final in Shanghai. World finalists will play at Dongzhuang Beach Golf Club in Shanghai this year from 19 to 22 October.

As with local qualifying tournaments, teams of two will compete over two rounds in Greensome (alternate shot) format on day one, and fourball, better-ball on day two.
