The Private Museum Charity Golf and Gala

27 Oct 2019

In celebration of its 9th anniversary, The Private Museum (TPM) Singapore successfully held its second annual fundraiser, The Private Museum Charity Golf and Gala 2019 on 5th September.

TPM bridges the gap between the private and the public through curating and exhibiting artworks by artists and private collectors without cost, and as part of its fundraising initiative, the event brought together the art and golf community through a day of golf at the Singapore Island Country Club’s Island course, followed by a gala dinner and an auction.

With more than 200 attendees, the event raised more than SGD 250,000 where funds gathered would contribute towards the museum’s operational cost as well as continual work with private collectors and art practitioners in bringing art to the masses.

Guest-of-Honour Mr Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State for Ministry of Trade and Industry & Ministry of Education, graced the gala night alongside many esteemed guests. Funds were raised with the help of patrons, donors, sponsors and partners. The official partners for the event included The Singapore Island Country Club (venue partner); Christie’s (auction partner); Golf Asia (media partner); Maison De Grand Spirit, Wolf Blass, Penfolds and Beaulieu Vineyard (wine partner); as well as Treasury Wine (event partner) who TPM jointly organised a Wine Masterclass with.

On top of the exciting raffle draw, the highlight of the night was the auction of artworks which included The Last Description of the Old Romantic (2019) by Natee Utarit; ANA (2016) by Kumari Nahappan; INK PULSE #2 (2017) by Yeo Shih Yun; SIMPLY HORSES (2015) by Ian De Souza; Speed Hump (2018) by Yeoh Choo Kuan; and Blue Water (2019) by Ng Yak Whee.
