Golf camaraderie at its finest was played out at the Singapore Vietnam Alliance Cup 2025. Held at the scenic Ocean Course of NovaWorld Phan Thiet Golf Club, about three hours by car from Ho Chi Minh City, the event was the third installment of an international match lay tournament played over three days.

Main sponsor ParTee Golf supported an objective to give Singapore professional golfers an opportunity to play competitively, while building strong relationships with counterparts in another country.
“We are creating more playing opportunities and exposure for our local professionals and amateurs,” said Dean Ju, Director at ParTee Golf. “We’re not just fostering talent but also building bridges between Singapore and Vietnam, one tee shot at a time.”
The Singapore contingent consisted of notable professionals from different eras and included Mardan Mamat, Choo Tze Huang, Abdul Hadi, Wong Qi Wen, Koh Dengshan, Justin Kuk, Joshua Chambers Yap, Marc Ong, James Leow, Zaw Moe, Gregory Foo and Mitchell Slorach.

Team Singapore ended victorious in the third instalment of the Alliance Cup.
“The event is more than just a sporting event, it stands as a symbol of multi- dimensional cultural exchange between the two nations and golfers will have the opportunity to interact, learn, and compete together, fostering unity and friendship in the golfing community,” says ParTee Golf.
Other Singapore sponsors included TaylorMade Golf and Hydroflask and also foreign partners Miura Omakase and Kim Quan.
The event stated with a Pro-Am tournament on 29 July, followed by 3 days of matches. Players competed in a team match-play format, featuring 24 matches divided into three rounds.

Team Singapore started on a strong foot by taking the first day’s foursome matches 4-2 for a lead. Vietnam wasn’t going to take things lying down and came back strongly in the second day’s four-ball matches which finished in a 3-3 tie. Singapore proved too strong in the third and final day’s singles, and their comprehensive 10-2 finish earned the team overall victory. The winning team took home VND 560 million (about $27,000) while the runner-up received a prize of VND 240 million (about $11,000).

At end of the day, it’s the camaraderie that counted.
